Frequently Asked Questions
When should I schedule the transport of my shipment?
We
recommend that you schedule your shipment as soon as
possible. The more time allowed arranging your shipment,
the greater the chance to meet your requested time
frame. For shipping full 20' or 40' container loads
please notify us, with all the necessary information, at
least 7 to 10 days in advance to when you want the
container delivered to you. For shipping less than
container loads, we need a 3 to 4 day notice.
How
much will it cost for my shipment?
The
cost for your shipment depends on many factors. Cost is
determined by the type of shipment (RO/RO, container or
LCL/Boxes), size of your shipment (how many cubic feet),
pick up location, delivery location, and time frame of
transportation.
How
do I pay for the transport of my shipment?
International
Express Shipping
accepts checks, money orders, and
cashier's checks for payment of your shipment. If a
truck has been dispatched to pick up your shipment
before you cancel, you will be charged a dry run which
depends on the pickup location of your shipment. If we
are arranging the delivery of your shipment to the port,
this portion must be prepaid. The ocean freight portion
of your shipment may be sent prepaid or collect.
Where will my shipment be picked up and delivered?
Your
quotation includes port to port unless specified. We can
quote and arrange your shipment for port to port,
loading warehouse to port or door to port.
How
long will it take to transport my shipment?
The
transit time depends on many factors such as the
departing port and the destination port or whether we
are trucking your shipment from door to port. Once we
know when you plan to transport your shipment and from
where to where, we can give you the vessel details,
including estimated sailing and arrival dates. Vessel
sailing schedules can change due to port traffic,
weather, etc. and are controlled by the shipping line.
How
will my shipment be transported?
We
ship Roll On/Roll Off which means your vehicle will be
driven on and off of a ship. It will be safely stored
under deck, and not subjected to weather. Or we ship in
a container depending on the destination port as some
ports not able to provide service to Ro-Ro Vessels.
What documents are required for my shipment?
If
your shipment is a vehicle, motorcycle or RV, the
original title and any lien satisfaction is required for
customs clearance. If your shipment is heavy machinery,
we need original bill of sale showing seller, buyer and
purchase price. Also, please be aware that you, as the
shipper, will be required to provide us with either a
passport number or social security number or EIN number
(if you are shipping under a business name). When we
file the shipping documents with U.S. Customs, one of
those numbers is required.
What are the port and clearance charges?
These
are fees charged by the destination country. Each
country differs. We suggest that you contact the embassy
of destination country for more details.
Can
anybody pick up the vehicle?
You
can designate any person to pick up the vehicle but you
must advise us so that we can enter his or her name as
the receiver on the bill of lading.
Can
bad weather affect the condition of my vehicle?
Shipping Roll on/Roll off is safe from changing weather
patterns since the vessel is completely enclosed.
Shipping containers, which are not airtight, are subject
to changing weather patterns. This can result in the
growth of moss on your upholstery. To avoid this, we
suggest that you cover your seats with a sheet or cloth.
Should I remove the plates and tags from my vehicle
before shipping?
When
your vehicle is not placed inside a container, you have
to remove your plates and tags at the time of drop off
at the port. You can replace them when picking up your
vehicle.
Are
you able to guarantee delivery dates?
Most
of the time we are able to give you expected arrival
dates. However, sometimes due to; customs delays, ships
canceling their departures, or bad weather delays can
occur. Arrival dates are never guaranteed.
What is a roll-on, roll-off vessel?
This
is a large vessel, which carries all vehicles that have
wheels. The vehicles are stored below deck, not open to
the elements. Vessel is completely enclosed.
What level of gas should be left in my tank?
Keep
your gas tank at 1/4 of a tank or less.

Packing
Packing your belongings yourself will actually save you
time and money, and the hassle of making sure your
valuable and personal goods are packed efficiently by
complete stranger. You do not need to hire a packing
company to have your goods arrive undamaged to its final
destination. What you need is common sense. You will
need boxes and/or suitcases, plastic wrap, packing paper
or newspaper and sealing tape. Wrap all small loose
items individually in packing paper, and then crumple
newspaper to use as padding then put these items inside
the box. Please keep in mind when packing books use
small boxes as books can be very heavy. Use sealing tape
to seal your boxes.
